Planning for the renewable future
The latest report on ‘Long-term modelling and tools to expand variable renewable power in emerging economies‘ published by IRENA uses OSeMOSYS among other long term energy planning tools to show country application examples. The report highlights an energy model of Ireland developed with OSeMOSYS, which incorporates short-term flexibility requirements of the electricity system and demonstrates their effect on long-term planning.
