Creating Energy Systems Analysis and Planning curricula in Sierra Leone

As part of the Joint Summer School on modelling tools for sustainable development, taking place in Trieste, 10-28th of June, 2019, a collaboration between KTH  and the University of Sierra Leone  for the development of Energy Systems Analysis and Planning curricula is cemented. Prof. Samba Sesay, Prof. David Caulker, and Prof. Michael Conteh, from Fourah Bay College , University of Sierra Leone, Freetown, attend the Summer School in order to deepen their knowledge in OSeMOSYS for energy and integrated resources investments and to co-design modules within existing curricula together with researchers from the . The next step of the collaboration will be a visit by KTH at Fourah Bay College, where the new modules shall be officially established and set to start in Academic Year 2019/2020. This effort is part of a larger one, aiming at creating capacity in electrification, energy investment and integrated resource planning in Uganda, Ethiopia and Sierra Leone, and it is part of the Applied Research Programme on Energy for Economic Growth (EEG) , led by Oxford Policy Management , United Kingdom, and funded by the UK Government through UK Aid .
