The effects of the F-Gas Regulation concern the heat pump industry

High GWP refrigerants are replaced by lower GWP alternatives on the European market. This is due to the reduced quotas (measured in CO2 equivalents), and increased demand (measured in kg). While the commercial refrigeration sector is concerned about the availability of R404A, access to other high-GWP refrigerants is also questioned. Thus, Svenska Kyl & Värmepumpföreningen (the Swedish refrigeration and heatpump association) has requested Swedish government to apply for exemptions for heat pumps at the EU Commission.
