The Department of Energy Technology at KTH has been awarded funding from the Horizon Europe initiative's EPIC AFRICA project . This project's overarching goal is to foster the creation of resilient energy systems in sub-Saharan Africa, with a strong emphasis on holistic sustainable development. To achieve this objective, the project focuses on collaboration with key stakeholders and optimizing the utilization of resources from the Volta and Tana Rivers. These efforts are designed to facilitate both the generation of clean energy through hydropower and the promotion of agricultural growth within these regions.
The selected PhD candidate will focus on advancing renewable energy integration, grid optimization, energy storage, and related topics in the region.
