Geospatial electrification training at the EMPA 2019

On January 14th – January 31st 2019, the second Energy Modelling Platform for Africa (
EMPA
) conference took place at

in Cape Town, South Africa. The EMP-A 2019 was organized and supported by a number of stakeholders, including

. At the EMP-A,19 participants from 13 countries attended the training on geo-spatial electrification planning held by researchers from KTH-dESA, developing geo-spatial analyses from scratch using the
OnSSET
tool. A few participants also presented their results at the High-Level Strategic Dialogue (HLSD) that took place at the last two days of the EMP-A. Overall the training participants and the attendees of the HLSD expressed the importance of these kind of initiatives and trainings to build capacity.
