Test Turbine

The test turbine is an important part of our experimental work as it allows aerodynamic studies in a turbomachine-typical environment. The turbine is driven by cold air from one of our air supply system and can be configured with a maximum of 3 turbine stages.

Research focus:

• Performance tests of turbine stages
• Efficiency measurements and detailed investigation of interstage flow parameters
• Partial admission flow investigations
• Investigations of aeromechanical phenomenon (forced response) during the partial admission flow
• Purge in high pressure turbine stage
