Fueling Innovation: Welcome Hanmin and Parth to Our Research Family

Published Sep 19, 2024

We’re excited to welcome two new members to our research team! Hanmin and Parth have recently joined us at HPT, bringing their expertise and enthusiasm to further strengthen our projects.

Meet Hanmin

Hanmin has joined HPT to work alongside Wujun Wang  on sustainable solutions for solid waste management. His focus is on dealing with waste materials like plastic, PV panels, and wind blades using renewable energy. As part of the FRONTSH1P  project, Hanmin is exploring innovative solar-driven pyrolysis methods combined with molten salt technology to convert solid waste into renewable fuels. His work also involves developing techno-economic models for integrated systems, contributing to sustainable and energy-efficient solutions for waste.

Meet Parth

Parth joins us to contribute to a Horizon Europe-funded project  focused on developing a first-of-a-kind (FOAK) high-temperature heat pump for flexible energy systems. His work includes integrating molten salts-based thermal energy storage (TES) for on-demand decarbonized industrial heat. In collaboration with industrial partners Enerin  and Kyoto Group AS , Parth will design and prototype a compact heat exchanger using genetic algorithm approaches and additive manufacturing techniques. His role also includes project coordination, working closely with Rafael  and Silvia .
