Empowering the Future: Innovating Sustainable Energy with Digital Heat Pump Solutions
Join us in revolutionizing the future of sustainable energy with an exciting opportunity to pioneer the development of cutting-edge digital tools in the renewable energy sector!
Background
In the pursuit of reducing our reliance on fossil fuels and enhancing the energy efficiency of buildings, the European Union is actively advocating for the wider adoption of Air- and Ground-Source Heat Pumps. While these systems hold great promise, realizing their full potential relies on precise design. Such precise designs can be afforded in larger buildings, but budget constraints often hinder accurate designs in smaller buildings like single-family houses.
To address this challenge, our aim is to create a user-friendly yet robust online tool for the design of small heat pump installations. The tool will be designed to be intuitive and accessible, eliminating the need for specialized expertise and significant financial resources. The tool will be based upon state-of-the art models for heat pumps and buildings and offer an attractive and simple interface to the users. This thesis project consists in creating the demo version of such a tool.
Who are you?
We are looking for individuals with a passion for innovation and a desire to explore the intersection of computer science, energy, and building technologies. Whether you come from a strong computer science background and are curious about the energy and buildings sector or possess expertise in the energy field and are eager to delve into web application development, this opportunity is for you.
What will you gain?
During this project you will have the opportunity to work in close contact with the Bengt Dahlgren GEO team, a group of experts in the geothermal energy field who strives for innovation and digitalisation of the building sector. This will give you the opportunity to deepen your understanding of the energy and building sector while using your creativity to make a real-world impact.
Compensation
